Tucked into a grave pad made of fir green, the long scaletta pod appears elegant and dignified in natural colors. The heavily lignified pods are the fruits of the tropical flame tree, which have been opened for use as decorative items, carefully prepared and the seeds removed. This makes the inner structure of the elongated fruits visible, which are also called ladder pods because of them. Outside they are reddish to dark brown and inside cream to light brown in color.

Thus, the flame tree fruits complement, among other things, funeral arrangements with protea flowers, exotic species such as palmspear, loofah and lotus as well as cones and twigs.
