The wooden spools are painted red. The paint has been partially removed artificially on the top and bottom, which further enhances the antique character of the decorative spools. The wooden spools are wrapped in several layers of jute ribbon. Small, gold-colored metal scissors have been tied to the outside. The gold scissors are only for decoration, so they cannot really be used for cutting.
