If you carefully drill a hole in it, you can also make neat wooden gift tags.

When doing handicrafts with children, the wooden discs make great bases for figures made of pine cones, chestnuts or branches. You can also easily wrap moss around a styrofoam ball with a little flower wire and create a belly for angry dwarfs, funny goblins or nasty gnomes and attach it to a wooden disc with hot glue.
