If the Douglas fir is even the subject of an old Indian fairy tale, your natural-colored cones are sure to have an almost magical effect as a natural wooden decoration! And indeed the fruits of the common Douglas fir, which is botanically known as Pseudotsuga menziesii, can be used almost magically in many of your design and decoration projects: The small, rather elongated Douglas fir cones with the flag-like extensions on the scales are really tough!

So you can use the Douglas cones for handicrafts and decorating in the most beautiful time of the year: On an Advent wreath that you have created with the help of floral foam, fir branches, cinnamon sticks, orange slices and red or white candles, they add that to the overall picture finishing touch! But also on a decorative plate on the living room table or a side table, the wooden cones come into their own together with Christmas tree balls and a chain of lights. You also have the option of adding the decorative cones in the area of funeral floristry to a wall wreath for a funeral service or a grave decoration for the All Souls Day and Sunday of the Dead.
